About The Position

Biogas Field Service Technicians are responsible for performing activities associated with the safe and efficient operations of electrical and mechanical systems at their assigned site(s). Responsibilities will include performing a variety of skilled operational and maintenance tasks throughout the day which includes interfacing with the SCADA systems, running analytical tests, and performing the inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation, and removal/replacement of various types of electrical and mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or agricultural engineering, or related experience.
  • In lieu of an associate’s degree, 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance on compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.
  • 2+ years of experience in biogas plant operation and maintenance or wastewater facility operation and maintenance preferred.
  • PLC programming experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of biogas production and conversion processes or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with experience working with 24-480 V systems.
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints, drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Applicant must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain biogas plants, including anaerobic dairy manure digesters, gas upgrading equipment, and ancillary equipment such as compressors, pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.
  • Perform planned routine maintenance and unplanned repairs on above equipment.
  • Documentation of work completed in logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
  • Conduct instrument calibration as scheduled/required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose plant operation and equipment problems.
  • Collect and analyze data to analyze digester health such as pH, TSS and biogas quality.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable plant environment, take pride in your site.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Other tasks in support of IGS RNG operations as required.
