About The Position

This role supervises the daily operations of the SSC collections team and assists the AR Manager in implementing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures, including QA assessments on staff. The Billing Supervisor will also assist the training team in developing training programs and materials for staff, and work with the manager to draft team evaluations and participate in drafting and delivering disciplinary actions. This position requires staying informed on all current applicable third-party payer regulations, requirements, and state laws and guidelines, and informing management and other staff members of changes while keeping documentation current and accessible. The role involves identifying any payer trends and resolving or escalating them as appropriate, and supervising efforts to successfully reduce days in A/R and meet productivity goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years of medical collections or billing experience related to Physician Billing required.
  • Able to develop and maintain good communication with and establish positive working relationships with staff, payers, peers and leadership.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to analyze claims to determine outstanding reimbursement due.
  • Has the ability to organize work and manage change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) required, experience with Excel formulas preferred.
