About The Position

As a Billing Specialist at Bloomerang, you will be part of a team overseeing customer billing. You will set up new accounts, resolve customer billing issues, work with stakeholders to obtain needed information, and participate in projects to improve billing processes. The role involves understanding the sales process from contract inception through billing and collection, supporting day-to-day billing operations, and collaborating with sales, customer success, account managers, and parallel teams. This is a permanent, full-time, fully remote position within the U.S. and select Canadian Provinces. Employees living in Indianapolis, Indiana, may work from company headquarters.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience working in billing or accounts receivable.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong organizational mindset.
• Ability to pivot and multitask when needed.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide and receive feedback.
• Positive attitude and desire to work in a space that impacts nonprofit organizations.
• Ability to stay current with emerging AI capabilities and apply them through hands-on building and experimentation.

• Experience with Ordway, Zuora, and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Gain a deep understanding of the sales process from contract inception to billing and collection.
• Work cross-functionally on invoicing, collections, phone support, and email customer service.
• Oversee daily billing-platform operations, including upgrades, cancellations, payments, and refunds.
• Research and resolve payment variances in partnership with customers and account managers.
• Identify process improvements and opportunities to automate tasks.
• Manage billing cases in Salesforce.
• Open new accounts and update existing accounts.
• Use billing systems and Salesforce CRM for account information and invoicing.
• Collaborate with parallel teams to provide support and solve issues.
• Assist with team projects, ad hoc projects, and relevant audits.
• Work cross-functionally with sales and customer success teams.
