About The Position

The Billing Specialist is responsible for entering and completing payer specific billing for assigned centers and follow-up. This position will be eligible to work a hybrid work assignment/schedule after successfully completing all training and competency requirements for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years’ billing experience, preferably in health care and/or skilled nursing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for the reconciliation of patient accounts.
  • High level of initiative, confidentiality, organizational skills, and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with payer specific state and local officials as well as center personnel, insurance company representatives, residents, and responsible parties.
  • Must be flexible, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to make effective decisions and work as part of a service excellence team

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting/Collection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete payer assigned billing for assigned centers per billing schedule.
  • Provide back-up billing (primary as well as coinsurance) for centers assigned to other Billing Specialists.
  • Maintain assigned accounts receivable at or under the company goal.
  • Post cash as assigned to the payer.
  • Attend training sessions as necessary.
  • Promote and demonstrate a Service Excellence culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
