About The Position

The Billing and Collections Analyst I supports Draper’s billing functions, invoicing, collections, and accurate recordkeeping. The role provides value-added service to internal and external partners and requires attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines. The analyst supports billing for government and commercial customers across cost-type, time-and-material, firm-fixed-price, and performance-based payment contracts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
3–5 years of government billing experience.
Attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to changes in workflow.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Ability to thrive in a results-driven team culture.
Knowledge of electronic billing procedures.
Familiarity with government regulations.
May be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

ERP experience, preferably with PeopleSoft, Oracle, IPP, WAWF, or Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with team members to support government and commercial customer bills, including cost-type, time-and-material, firm-fixed-price, and performance-based payment contracts.
Produce and deliver customer billings for assigned contracts in a timely manner.
Collect receivables.
Monitor and update customer interaction documentation in support of collections.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues.
Develop collaborative working relationships with Contracts, Business Analysts, General Ledger, Program Finance, Programs, Accounts Payable, and other departments.
Work within tight time constraints arising from departmental and contractual deadlines.
Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Communicate issues and provide updates to the Manager.
Set up billing plans accurately and on time.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
