About The Position

Parkwood Behavioral Health System is hiring a Biller/Collector to handle daily operations of its collection department. The role is responsible for collecting payments due to Parkwood Hospital in a timely and accurate manner, billing UB04 claims to insurance companies, and following up on submitted insurance claims. The Biller/Collector also provides backup support for payment posting, deposit preparation, and insurance verification. This position operates consistently with Parkwood Behavioral Health System’s philosophy and objectives.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services and offers inpatient acute and residential care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three or more years of general accounting or collection experience.
• Hospital medical billing experience is required.
• Knowledge of collections, hospital insurance billing, general accounting, and computer systems.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• General accounting or collection experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the collection department.
• Collect payments due to Parkwood Hospital in a timely and accurate manner.
• Bill UB04 claims to insurance companies.
• Follow up on claims billed to insurance.
• Provide backup support for payment posting, deposit preparation, and insurance verification.
