About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned administrator and the general supervision of a teacher and/or other certificated employee, the Bilingual Paraprofessional provides instructional support in Punjabi to limited- or non-English-speaking students to help them accomplish learning objectives. The position also performs other related duties as assigned. The job is at Nile Garden School. Available schedules are Monday through Friday, either 7:45 a.m.–2:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch or 8:00 a.m.–1:45 p.m. The position is listed as 5.75 hours per day.

Requirements

• High school diploma accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education, or equivalent.
• Forty-eight semester units, an associate degree or higher, or passing the proficiency requirements established by the District.
• Submit a resume, one signed letter of recommendation, and either proof of an AA or BA degree from a regionally accredited college, proof of 48 semester units, or a certificate showing successful completion of a basic paraprofessional proficiency test.
• Candidates submitting college degrees or transcripts from outside the United States must attach a certified evaluation verifying equivalency.
• If hired, obtain TB clearance and complete fingerprinting at the employee's cost.
