About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the origination and closing of mortgage loans. The role involves cross-selling First United Bank products and services, working with assigned bank personnel to promote FUB, taking thorough loan applications, analyzing and pre-qualifying applicant information, pulling and analyzing credit reports, and determining correct loan options for borrowers. The assistant will also submit loan applications, preliminary income and asset verification documents, loan disclosures, credit explanation letters, and executed application forms to processing. The position requires meeting minimum expectations for First United’s best practices and production standards, attending production meetings as necessary, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high ethical standards, and ensuring compliance with every borrower. Additional duties include completing required compliance exams yearly, adhering to all First United Policies and Procedures, and dressing professionally.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Possession of strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer one year experience in mortgage lending environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Vietnamese preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cross sells First United Bank products and services to borrowers and other customers.
  • Works with assigned bank personnel to promote FUB in assigned markets.
  • Takes thorough and complete loan applications; analyzes and pre-qualifies applicant information to determine viability of the client's desired loan program.
  • Pulls credit, analyzes credit, and compares for accuracy with the mortgage borrower's statements and loan application.
  • Assists in the determination of the correct loan options for the borrower based upon the applicant's present situation, future plans, and preferred loan product.
  • Assists in the submission of the loan applications, preliminary income verification documents, preliminary asset verification documents, loan disclosures, any required credit explanation letters and executed application forms to processing.
  • Meets minimum expectations for First United’s best practices and production standards
  • Attends production meetings as necessary.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, maintains high ethical standards, and insures compliance with every borrower.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Dresses professionally.
