About The Position
The Bilingual Instructional Assistant will support students and staff by providing assistance in English and Dari. This role involves working with groups of children and requires fluency in both languages. The position is permanent and part-time, with benefits included. The work year is 9 months, consisting of 206 days per year, 5 days per week. The daily work hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Requirements
- Applicant must be fluent in English in addition to Dari.
- Previous experience working with groups of children.
- Attach High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Attach one of the following: Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current), Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), Official transcripts demonstrating completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units), or Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
- If foreign degree/transcripts, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
