About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Director of HR and Administration. This position assists with essential HR operations including payroll, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance reporting, and maintaining data integrity across employee systems. This role is the go-to resource for employees navigating HR systems and serves as the first point of contact for external HR inquiries.

Requirements

  • Able to navigate ADP, Excel, Outlook, Teams, CareerPlug, and a variety of job listing, insurance and other large corporate websites

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in human resources
  • High computer literacy required: demonstrated ability with MS office including excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with running payroll, tracking time off, and managing benefits using ADP and other tools.
  • Keep employee records accurate and organized, both digitally and on paper.
  • Maintain and enhance HR dashboards and analytics to support planning and decision-making.
  • Respond to external requests like verifications of employment, audits, unemployment claims, and compliance checks.
  • Assist with onboarding, orientations, employee changes, and offboarding processes.
  • Post job openings and help coordinate hiring, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Answer employee questions about pay, benefits, retirement plans, policies, and HR systems, in English and in Spanish.
  • Track and monitor all staff documentation, such as evaluations, signed forms, and training records.
  • Provide translation for human resources documents.
  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for visitors, callers, and community partners as needed.
  • Provide front desk coverage as needed, including greeting, answering phones, directing inquiries, and processing mail.
  • Assist with ordering and organizing office supplies as needed.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Write and send out internal HR updates; translate when needed.
  • Maintain procedure documentation and assist staff with interpreting policies as needed.
  • Assist with additional projects that support a positive workplace as needed.
  • Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
  • Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
  • Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
  • Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
