About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and creative Bilingual Communications Manager to join our growing national team. In this role, you will manage our website presence, oversee resource production, and serve as the technical and operational anchor for national community engagement. Key responsibilities include managing event technology for virtual webinars and support groups, as well as traveling across Canada to host in-person educational events.

Requirements

• Prior management experience within a non-profit environment—specifically in corporate communications, public relations, digital strategy, or non-profit communications, alongside a strong preference for managing project teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Native or full professional fluency in written and spoken English and French is mandatory.
• Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Advanced proficiency with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp), and virtual event tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
• Video and graphic design competence using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms and CRM systems.
• Warm, empathetic communication style suited for community and patient support environments, paired with strong leadership and time-management capabilities.
• Must possess a reliable home office setup and be willing and able to travel nationally across Canada for in-person events.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• A police background check is a required condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute awareness campaigns in both English and French to reach and engage people affected by bladder cancer. (Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, Canada Walks for Bladder Cancer, Holiday Appeal, Giving Tuesday).
• Expand brand reach across all channels, by partnering with key stakeholders and influencers, growing social media audience, and accelerating newsletter subscription growth.
• Ensure a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and accurate messaging across both official languages.
• Provide day-to-day coordination, guidance, and editorial feedback for two direct reports and multiple volunteers.
• Draft and refine high-level communications, including social media content, national announcements, media releases, executive briefing notes, and key messaging documents.
• Oversee bilingual translation workflows to guarantee consistent, culturally appropriate messaging in both French and English across all public touchpoints.
• Be the main point of contact for external vendors/freelancers to research, produce, and publish high-quality educational resources (guidebooks, info sheets, blogs, and marketing packages).
• Develop and maintain a centralized multi-platform communications calendar that aligns fundraising campaigns, program rollouts, and national awareness initiatives.
• Lead the strategy, layout design, and ongoing content management for the organizational website, ensuring bilingual accuracy, accessibility, and SEO best practices.
• Track, analyze, and report on key communications performance metrics (web traffic, email engagement, and digital outreach) to continuously refine outreach strategies.
• Travel nationally approximately twice a year to host and facilitate in-person educational events, conferences, and stakeholder gatherings.
• Support the technical setup and coordination of seminars, webinars, digital town halls, live support group meetings, and hybrid events.
• Other duties as assigned, including occasional evening and weekend support for events and virtual support groups.
