About The Position

The Curriculum Coordinator will help maintain an environment in which Perelman School of Medicine (PSOM) PhD Programs within Biomedical Graduate Studies (BGS) can deliver their academic goals in alignment with best practices and policies aimed at institutional and student success. The Curriculum Coordinator will oversee several processes, including but not limited to program and course maintenance, course evaluations, non-course requirements, and supplemental training. The Curriculum Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty and staff across BGS to communicate and improve processes and procedures related to curriculum development, updates to course and degree requirements, non-course training requirements, and supplemental training options. The BGS Curriculum Coordinator will report to the BGS Registrar and will collaborate with BGS faculty and staff leadership, individual Graduate Group Coordinators, and the BGS Finance Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Critical thinking skills, exceptional organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and web content software
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with higher education curriculum program is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working with Pennant systems is preferred
  • A cover letter is required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and monitor completion of various non-course training requirements, including responsible conduct of research, individual development plans, and externships
  • Oversee scheduling of and provide support for centrally managed, BGS-wide core courses, including support to the faculty course directors for scheduling course activities, TA appointments, examinations, and supplemental evaluations
  • Oversee BGS course evaluations and prepare reports for faculty and staff leadership
  • Organize and staff meetings of the BGS Curriculum Committee: schedule meetings and help faculty leadership develop meeting agendas; review and document program/course changes; and ensure approved changes are implemented
  • Support BGS Registrar in maintaining up-to-date, accurate course information in University and local systems (Pennant, Curriculum Manager, CLSS - CourseLeaf Section Scheduler)
  • Work closely with the Curriculum Director and Finance Office to fill and document TA assignments, including the generation of TA appointment letters in compliance with union contract requirements
  • Serve as liaison with Scheduling Office to book BGS courses in PSOM and University spaces, coordinating classroom scheduling requirements with graduate groups
  • Provide reporting to assist with curriculum and program needs
  • Manage routine aspects of BGS visiting student documentation requirements for external students temporarily performing research in PSOM labs
  • Maintain and update program websites related to curriculum and non-course training requirements
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
