About The Position

Valley View Casino & Hotel is seeking a Beverage Server to provide beverage service to all guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner, displaying a high standard of guest service. This position works under general supervision and relies on limited experience, instructions, pre-established guidelines, and good judgment to perform job functions. Team members are expected to uphold the Valley View Casino & Hotel’s Standards of Excellence, Mission, and Vision Statements.

  • Ability to define problems involving several concrete variables, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to carry out primary duties, responsibilities, and tasks.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must use good judgment when providing information to guests and maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Responsible for conducting all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening test.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of beverage service experience.
  • Previous experience in gaming environment.
  • Ability to understand oral and verbal communication while using Valley View Casino & Hotel’s communication tools which include but are not limited to radios, cell phones and or email.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous beverage service to guests in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure accuracy of purchased beverages and provide accurate change.
  • Take and fill all beverage orders and assist in maintaining the guests' gaming area in a clean and neat manner.
  • Monitor guests' needs on a continual basis, ensuring all beverage requests are promptly fulfilled.
  • Maintain assigned area for cleanliness.
  • Assist other beverage personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company facilities and special events on property to advise guests and fellow Team Members.
  • Protect Valley View Casino & Hotel by adhering to alcohol beverage control policies, providing responsible alcohol service, and monitoring guest's alcohol consumption.
  • Inform Food and Beverage Managers when a guest demonstrates signs of intoxication.
  • Comply with the Tipped Rate Determination Agreement (Gaming Industry) as approved by the IRS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Food and Beverage Managers, Director, and/or Vice President.
  • Conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Adhere to performance standards, company policies, and procedures as they relate to the department.
