About The Position

The Beverage Cart Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient snack and beverage service to golfers throughout our 9-hole par 3 short course. The attendant operates a mobile golf cart stocked with beverages, snacks, and other approved items, providing convenient service to golfers while they enjoy their round. Because our facility features a relaxed 9-hole short course, this position plays an important role in creating a fun, welcoming, and hospitable atmosphere for golfers of all ages and skill levels. This is a hands-on, guest-facing position that requires excellent customer service, attention to detail, responsible cash and payment handling, and the ability to safely operate a golf cart while working independently outdoors.

  • Ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and basic sales calculations.
  • Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must meet all applicable age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
  • Required alcohol service or food safety certifications must be obtained and maintained when applicable.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and perform repetitive stocking and cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry cases of beverages, ice, coolers, and other supplies weighing approximately 30–50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart on paved paths and designated course areas.
  • Ability to repeatedly enter and exit the beverage cart throughout a shift.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun, wind, rain, and cooler temperatures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous food and beverage, hospitality, golf course, retail, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Previous cash-handling or point-of-sale experience is helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of golf and golf course etiquette is helpful but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the snack and beverage cart for daily service, ensuring it is clean, organized, fully stocked, and in proper operating condition.
  • Stock beverages, snacks, ice, cups, napkins, condiments, and other supplies according to established par levels.
  • Maintain an attractive, clean, and organized product display throughout the shift.
  • Monitor inventory and restock the cart as needed.
  • Maintain proper temperatures for beverages and any food items requiring temperature control.
  • Follow all food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
  • Return the cart to the designated area at the end of the shift and complete all cleaning, restocking, and closing procedures.
  • Report mechanical, operational, inventory, or safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and attentive experience for golfers and guests.
  • Clearly communicate available snack and beverage offerings and pricing.
  • Take guest orders accurately and provide prompt service.
  • Process cash, credit card, and other approved forms of payment using the designated point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain accurate transactions and properly account for cash and inventory during the shift.
  • Suggest additional items when appropriate while maintaining a friendly, service-focused approach.
  • Respond promptly to reasonable guest requests and refer questions or concerns to management when necessary.
  • Provide the same professional and courteous service to beginners, juniors, families, experienced golfers, and event participants.
  • Help create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that complements the short-course golf experience.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages only in accordance with company policies and all applicable state and local laws.
  • Verify identification and legal drinking age when required.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service procedures at all times.
  • Refuse or discontinue alcohol service when required by law or company policy and immediately involve management when appropriate.
  • Maintain control and accountability of alcoholic beverage inventory throughout the shift.
