BESS Analyst Co-Op
About The Position
The BESS Analyst Co-Op will support LGESVT’s Service Engineering organization through administrative and data management work that enables accurate asset tracking and lifecycle planning for its battery energy storage systems fleet. The role provides exposure to the battery energy storage industry and service operations for grid-scale energy storage systems. The co-op will maintain and populate asset databases, administer software platform user credentials, and assist with updates to the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to improve operational visibility and performance management. The role also contributes to documentation control, data verification, and process development initiatives, and helps prepare reporting materials on asset conditions, performance metrics, and potential risks.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial), Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- A strong academic record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, pivot tables, and basic analysis.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical documentation reading.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about industrial energy storage equipment and product lifecycle planning.
Nice To Haves
- Previous internship experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with database systems such as IBM Maximo and computerized maintenance management systems.
- Basic understanding of lithium-ion batteries, battery management systems, and high-voltage power conversion systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in consolidating data and populating the centralized asset management system with information about LGESVT’s battery energy storage systems fleet.
- Conduct physical audits and review documentation to verify asset records, including serial numbers, models, vendors, and locations.
- Help stakeholders collect and organize asset documentation, including product manuals, warranty contracts, service agreements, vendor contact information, and spare parts lists.
- Conduct internal analysis to identify potential obsolescence issues and flag products nearing the end of their manufacturer support lifecycle.
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for data entry, asset tracking, and documentation control.
- Help performance engineers prepare reports and presentations on asset conditions, performance metrics, and potential risks.
- Administer software platform user credentials and assist with CMMS updates.
