About The Position

The Benefits Supervisor supports the development of healthcare benefits strategy and ongoing management of the full spectrum of health and benefits programs via analysis and execution activities. This role contributes towards the fostering of an employee-centric workplace approach that results in the improved well-being of all employees enrolled in UPS benefits programs and related initiatives. The Benefits Supervisor has strong healthcare strategy, vendor management and program management experience. This role serves as the project manager on select projects, regularly interacts with external vendors and internal stakeholders, and ensures programs are operating as expected and achieving success, while having the opportunity to significantly grow health and benefits business acumen. This role is an independent contributor and may travel domestically on occasion.

Requirements

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or be a current UPS employee with three years of UPS experience
  • Must be located in the same geographical location as the job or be willing to self-relocate to the area
  • Possesses a minimum of two years of prior experience managing healthcare plans and programs
  • Possesses a minimum of two years of prior experience managing vendors that administer benefits offerings
  • Shows prior experience formally managing projects of various size and scope
  • Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Employee Benefit Administrator (CEBA) and/or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification
  • Demonstrates prior working experience and knowledge of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA)

Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, implementation, and ongoing management of healthcare and other employee benefit programs, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Provides operational and analytical support for healthcare benefits, including medical, prescription drug, wellness, and other vendor‑administered plans
  • Manages day‑to‑day relationships with external benefits vendors (insurance carriers, third‑party administrators, and consultants) to ensure services are delivered according to contracts and performance standards
  • Assists with vendor governance activities such as performance tracking, service issue resolution, data validation, and participation in vendor reviews and RFP processes
  • Helps ensure benefits programs remain competitive, cost‑effective, compliant, and sustainable, supporting consistent administration and risk management
  • Partners with HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and Communication stakeholders to ensure smooth, end‑to‑end delivery of benefits programs
  • Supports an employee‑focused benefits experience by contributing to programs and initiatives that promote employee well‑being and improve understanding of available benefits
  • Assists with benefits changes, new program implementations, and transitions, ensuring timely execution, clear communication, and minimal disruption to employees
