About The Position

The Benefits Specialist is the go-to guide for all things benefits—keeping programs organized, supporting employee changes, and making sure benefits are clear, accurate, and easy to use. This role helps employees get the most out of the benefits that work for them.

Requirements

Confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive employee and company information.
Ability to manage tasks independently while also collaborating with others.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities, stay organized, and keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of HR principles and federal and local employment regulations.
Comfortable using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
High school diploma or GED with two (2) years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Responsibilities

Handle the day-to-day details of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, workers’ comp, FMLA/LOA, and wellness programs.
Coordinate the wellness program, collaborate with the wellness committee, and be the main contact for benefits vendors.
Oversee enrollments, updates, COBRA, and claims, along with monthly billing and plan reviews.
Guide employees through annual enrollment, answer benefit questions, and share helpful information and training.
Maintain benefits and payroll records, process employee changes, and manage FSA/HSA reporting and deposits.
