About The Position

The Lead Benefits Coordinator coordinates staff activities and workflows related to patient access, insurance verification, scheduling, and administrative support within a clinical practice to ensure efficient operations and high patient satisfaction. Provides customer service by supporting appointment scheduling, check-in and check-out processes, insurance benefit verification, authorization coordination, and telephone triage. Serves as a key liaison between clinic staff, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve complex authorization and patient access issues. Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to Benefits Coordinators while promoting service excellence aligned with the UT Health mission, vision, and patient promise.

Requirements

  • Experience in patient access, insurance verification, scheduling, and administrative support within a clinical practice.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to support appointment scheduling, check-in and check-out processes.
  • Proficiency in insurance benefit verification and authorization coordination.
  • Skills in telephone triage.
  • Liaison skills between clinic staff, providers, and insurance representatives.
  • Ability to resolve complex authorization and patient access issues.
  • Guidance, training, and mentorship capabilities.

  • Serve as a key liaison between clinic staff, providers, and insurance representatives to resolve complex authorization and patient access issues.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Benefits Coordinators.
