About The Position

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company's employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave administration. This position serves as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefit-related questions and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering employee benefit programs.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, payroll systems, and benefits administration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to attend meetings and employee benefit events as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience with open enrollment and leave administration preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain all employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, EAP, COBRA, and retirement plans.
  • Manage employee enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations within established deadlines.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities, including employee communications, meetings, and system updates.
  • Ensure accurate benefit deductions and payroll integrations.
  • Maintain benefits-related records and documentation in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, coverage, claims issues, and plan provisions.
  • Educate employees on available benefit options and assist them in making informed enrollment decisions.
  • Respond to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with annual reporting requirements, audits, and government filings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee benefits and personal information.
  • Support internal and external audits related to benefits administration.
  • Prepare benefits reports and metrics for leadership review.
  • Audit benefit elections, invoices, and payroll deductions for accuracy.
  • Analyze benefits utilization and identify trends to support strategic decision-making.
