About The Position

The Benefits Account Executive is responsible for managing client insurance programs, acting as the primary point of contact for both clients and the market. This role involves overseeing the administration of benefit programs, coordinating with various internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring effective client service through problem-solving, diplomacy, and tact. The position requires a proactive work style, leadership qualities, and the ability to manage renewals, enrollments, and compliance functions. The Benefits Account Executive will also delegate tasks to an Account Manager and other team members, ensuring all client needs are met efficiently and professionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Maintain Group 1 License.
  • 3-4 years of Benefits Account Manager experience preferred (Internal).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of small market Benefits Account Executive experience preferred (External).
  • Demonstrated participation in RHU, GBA or CEBS CE path, or 5-7 years of experience as an Account Executive if no designation.
  • Operational knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, and current internet technologies.
  • Ability to travel to meet client service needs.
  • Ability to speak professionally and comfortably in front of others.
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Willingness to work to meet client needs beyond scheduled hours.
  • Bilingual Spanish a major plus.
  • Ability to service clients, vendors, and co-workers effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tactfulness.
  • Ability to be proactive and demonstrate leadership.
  • Mastery level knowledge of fully insured benefits products, services, market dynamics, carriers/vendors.
  • Functional knowledge of wellness programs and client advocacy concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-4 years of Benefits Account Manager experience (Internal).

  • Demonstrated participation in (i.e. completed segments) in RHU, GBA or CEBS CE path.
  • If no designation, then 5-7 years of experience as an Account Executive preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Client Insurance Program utilizing the agency management system.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the Producer, sharing knowledge, providing instruction, and delegating tasks.
  • Inform the Producer of upcoming deadlines and events.
  • Maintain R: Drive/client files and manage workflows as per the Benefits Timeline.
  • Manage and monitor the administration of client benefit programs, researching and answering questions.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver Wellness presentations.
  • Demonstrate a proactive work style and leadership role.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Manage the renewal bid/RFP strategy and process.
  • Negotiate with carriers on cost and program design.
  • Oversee and monitor the creation and maintenance of marketing binders.
  • Ensure satisfactory vendor performance and stay up-to-date on carrier plans.
  • Assist bSwift team with bSwift requirements and client web site setup.
  • Oversee development and preparation of communication booklets.
  • Coordinate, present, and attend client meetings, including enrollment meetings.
  • Develop stewardship reports.
  • Gather and analyze ICAF, Milliman, Aggregate and DMW reports.
  • Initiate own correspondence with clients and ensure timely delivery.
  • Visit clients as necessary throughout the year.
  • Delegate tasks to the Account Manager and outsourcing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Renewal Timeline and task completion.
  • Check Insurance Contracts & Compliance Review Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Communicate any corrections to vendors and ensure SPD is updated.
  • Personally check all client policies.
  • Oversee Compliance functions including Healthcare Reform Checklist, Self-Funded SPD Checklist, Stop Loss Checklist, Admin Agreement Checklist, Schedule A, Form 5500, Medicare Part D Disclosures, CMS Reporting, HIPAA, ERISA, and COBRA.
  • Review first bill following renewal for accuracy.
  • Function as a team member of the Client Services team.
  • Maintain and exhibit a positive, professional attitude.
  • Represent the agency in a competent, professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Client Services.
