About The Position

Legacy Risk Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Benefits Account Executive/Team Lead. We are a full-service independent insurance agency seeking an experienced employee benefits professional to support our Benefits Producers in the sales, marketing, and service of Group Benefits accounts. In this role, the Benefits AE will be responsible for servicing employer group clients by managing new business implementations, renewals, and ongoing service needs. The position requires a strong understanding of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and compliance-related considerations. This individual will work closely with Producers to assist in the marketing, placement, and renewal of employee benefits programs while ensuring prompt, accurate, and efficient client service. In addition to client service responsibilities, the Account Manager will serve as a Team Lead overseeing a small group of employees, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure exceptional service delivery, operational efficiency, and adherence to agency standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Active Life, Accident & Health Insurance License required.
  • Minimum 4 years of employee benefits insurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and carrier administration processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel.
  • Agency Management System experience required; EPIC experience preferred.
  • Previous management or team lead experience required.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • High emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovation.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and drive results.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and manages renewal processes and strategy meetings with Producers and clients.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for clients, providing ongoing service and correspondence regarding benefits programs.
  • Assists with implementation and onboarding of new group benefit plans.
  • Prepares and submits renewal and new business marketing specifications to carriers and vendors.
  • Reviews carrier proposals, renewal offers, and benefit plan options with Producers.
  • Facilitates communication with carriers and clients regarding eligibility changes, enrollments, terminations, plan amendments, and other service requests.
  • Addresses carrier non-renewals, plan changes, and coverage concerns with Producers and clients.
  • Oversees open enrollment planning, coordination, and employee communication support.
  • Assists clients with billing discrepancies and carrier invoice reconciliation.
  • Coordinates and tracks employee benefit audits, census updates, and required documentation.
  • Maintains accurate client records, documentation, and file management standards within the agency management system.
  • Reviews benefit plan documents, contracts, and carrier materials for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitors compliance-related deadlines and supports clients with required notices and documentation.
  • Provides leadership, training, and support to team members while promoting process consistency and service excellence.
  • Identifies opportunities for workflow improvement, operational efficiencies, and enhanced client experience.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or assigned.
