About The Position

The Benefits Account Executive will serve as the primary contact for clients, producers, and the market. This role involves managing client insurance programs, administering benefit plans, coordinating wellness presentations, and building vendor relationships. The executive will also manage renewal processes, negotiate with carriers, and ensure a high level of client service through problem-solving, effective communication, and occasional client visits. Teamwork within the Client Services team is essential, including delegating tasks to an Account Manager and outsourcing teams.

Requirements

  • Maintain Group 1 License
  • 3+ years of experience as managing a book of business at an insurance brokerage OR 3+ years of HR benefits experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings
  • Ability to speak professionally and comfortably in front of others
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize & multi-task when needed
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to service our clients, vendors and co-workers effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity and tactfulness
  • Ability to be pro-active (Does not have to be asked or reminded of tasks. Demonstrates a leadership role with the client in the overall administration of the Benefits Program).
  • Working knowledge of fully-insured and/or self-funded benefits products, services, market dynamics, carriers/vendors
  • Functional knowledge of wellness programs and client advocacy concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Client Insurance Program, utilizing agency management system.
  • Serve as the primary contact with the Producer, informing them of upcoming deadlines and events.
  • Share knowledge, provide instruction, and delegate tasks to the Account Manager and cross-functional departments.
  • Manage workflows and administration of client benefit programs, adhering to deadlines.
  • Research and answer questions regarding client benefit plans, claims billings, etc.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver Wellness Presentations to showcase MMA vendor capabilities.
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Manage renewal bid/RFP strategy and process.
  • Manage ongoing carrier/TPA/Vendor renewal negotiations on clients’ behalf.
  • Ensure appropriate level of service to client.
  • Oversee development and preparation of communication booklets.
  • Service clients effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity and tactfulness.
  • Maintain visibility with client through occasional lunches and on-site visits.
  • Schedule Mid-year and Renewal Meetings, preparing necessary materials.
  • Coordinate Enrollment Meetings, including agenda and times with Client and Carriers, and conduct meetings as necessary.
  • Function as a team member of the Client Services team to ensure superior service to MMA Clients.
  • Demonstrate appropriate judgment regarding task management and delegation.
  • Delegate tasks to Account Manager and outsourcing teams, ensuring completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Client Services.
