About The Position

The Bellman welcomes guests to the hotel, assists with luggage and baggage, and helps guests make use of hotel amenities. The role may also provide coverage for the doorman’s position and assist at the concierge desk when the bell captain or concierge is absent. The employee is expected to assist in other hotel areas as needed to support operations and may be assigned additional duties.

The position requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, walking, speaking, listening, and handling objects, tools, or controls. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with guests, vendors, and coworkers.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform the physical activities described, including sitting, standing, bending, walking, speaking, hearing, and handling objects, tools, or controls.

Nice To Haves

• Hotel experience is desired.
• Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Carry luggage to guest rooms.
• Handle baggage for tour groups.
• Welcome people entering the hotel lobby.
• Know hotel amenities and communicate information about them to guests.
• Assist in maintaining the concierge desk when the bell captain or concierge is absent.
• Maintain Leading Hotels of the World and Forbes Travel Standards.
• Cover the doorman’s position when the doorman is absent.
• Assist guests with luggage during checkout.
• Store luggage in the bell closet for guests departing later.
• Assist with other guest requests and hotel requirements.
• Work in other areas of the hotel as needed to support operations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
