About The Position

The Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking a Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to oversee facility behavioral healthcare functions. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background and a passion to habilitate youth. This role involves providing social work services, including assessments, treatment planning, individual, group, and/or family interventions/sessions, crisis intervention, liaison services with various external entities, and discharge and aftercare planning for assigned youth offenders. The position also requires representation on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT) and establishing and maintaining working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services. Contact with parents/guardians is also a responsibility. The role necessitates accessing, developing, and maintaining documentation to meet federal, state, and local agency requirements, as well as DYS policy. Requirements

• Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) by Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor’sCredentialing Board.
• OR Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• OR Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
• OR Licensed Registered Nurse with certificate of authority as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Certified Nurse Practitioner with specialty certification in Mental Health or Psychiatry as issued by Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services, including assessments; treatment planning; individual, group, and/or family interventions/sessions; crisis intervention; liaison services (e.g. with family, regional office/juvenile parole officers, release authority, school, courts, and other community support services); discharge and aftercare planning; etc. to assigned caseload of youth offenders within the scope of their licensure.
• Represent social and/or habilitative programming on the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT) consistent with policy.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with other facilities, agencies, and support services.
• Contact parent/guardian (e.g., in emergencies, crises, transfers, etc.).
• Access, develop, maintain, and synthesize written and/or electronic documentation to satisfy requirements of federal, state, and local agencies; and in compliance with DYS policy (e.g., progress notes, institutional and community reports pertaining to the youth’s case; etc.).
