About The Position

The Recovery Village Columbus Drug and Alcohol Rehab (RVC) is seeking Behavioral Health Technicians for their Groveport, OH facility. RVC is dedicated to helping individuals struggling with substance use disorder through a comprehensive continuum of care, including detox, inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare services. The facility offers a multidisciplinary approach with compassionate care from physicians, clinicians, and addiction specialists, complemented by amenities like yoga and art therapy for holistic healing. The Behavioral Health Technician plays a crucial role in observing and monitoring patients, reporting on their progress, and contributing to the overall welfare of the organization and patient activities. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and secure environment and assisting patients in various activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a health-related field required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in BHT or similar patient care role preferred.
  • In lieu of Associate degree, minimum two (2) years’ experience in BHT or similar patient care role required.
  • Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards.
  • CPR and Standard First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Adult Facilities.
  • Experience working with Children and Adolescent Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and monitor patients in treatment.
  • Report patient observations and progress as indicated.
  • Contribute to the welfare of the organization.
  • Assist patients in a variety of patient activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Communicate and enforce facility program rules and ensure compliance in a firm, fair, and professional manner.
  • Communicate patient behavior with immediate supervisor and clinical team as appropriate.
  • Address problem behaviors as needed through verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Adhere to time schedules.
  • Maintain healthy and professional boundaries with patients and staff.
  • Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear, accurate, and legible.
  • Keep clinical records secure at all times.
