About The Position

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Safety Coach for the day shift, scheduled for three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The coach supports workplace and patient safety through event debriefs, safety communications, and training and mentorship on safety incident reporting. The role also provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of relevant clinical work experience.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association upon starting.
• Crisis Prevention Institute certification within three months.

Nice To Haves

• Background in psychiatry, mental health, or behavioral health.
• Crisis prevention training.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate debriefs of safety events or concerns.
• Participate in safety meetings and serve on the workplace violence committee.
• Educate, train, and mentor Clinical Technicians and Mental Health Technicians on safety incident reporting.
• Disseminate and deliver safety messaging to the organization as appropriate.
• Provide direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
