About The Position

The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides comprehensive mental health services, conducts initial behavioral health and substance-use assessments, and makes referrals to community providers when appropriate. Working with the Behavioral Health Supervisor and Program Director, this position helps provide high-quality, low-barrier behavioral health services. The client population includes people with significant trauma histories, substance-use histories, and financial stress; many clients are covered by the Oregon Health Plan, living with HIV, or members of LGBTQ+ and trans communities. The role includes conducting and documenting assessments; developing Individual Services and Support Plans with clients; providing individual, family, or group psychotherapy within the scope of education and training; administering outcome measures; and assisting with mental-health crises during scheduled office hours. The QMHP maintains compliant and confidential records, advocates for clients, collaborates with providers and staff, uses electronic health record and billing systems appropriately, and refers clients to relevant psychiatry, behavioral-health, substance-use, or dual-diagnosis programs. The position also requires maintaining QMHP status and applicable licensure, reliable attendance, appropriate stress management, and use of a personal cell phone for agency systems such as phone software and multifactor authentication. This is a 1.0 FTE, 40-hour-per-week exempt position. It is hybrid/remote eligible, with up to 50% remote work. Duties may take place in non-traditional and community-based settings and require travel to other locations. The schedule may include flexible hours, early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
