About The Position

The Staff Pad has partnered with a well-known hospital in Helena, MT and we are looking to hire a Behavioral Health Nurse Manager to oversee the operations and clinical leadership of an inpatient behavioral health program. This role offers the chance to provide strong operational, clinical, and administrative leadership within the Behavioral Health Unit to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management or leadership experience in a Behavioral Health setting required
  • Demonstrated success in team building, coaching, mentoring, and staff development
  • BSN required
  • Current RN license in the State of Montana required
  • BLS certification required
  • SECURE certification (or equivalent) required
  • Mental Health First Aid certification required
  • Manage multiple priorities and high-stress situations with emotional and cognitive maturity
  • Communicate compassionately, non-judgmentally, and effectively with patients and teams
  • Stay flexible with changing schedules and departmental needs
  • Use strong organizational skills to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPIC preferred
  • Postgraduate degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Shares responsibility for overall unit operations, patient flow coordination, and delivery of Behavioral Health services
  • Serves as an administrative leader collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to advance the organization’s mission, vision, values, and goals
  • Oversees staff and departmental operations while fostering a professional, supportive, and effective practice environment
  • Promotes patient safety, advocacy, teamwork, respect, and operational efficiency
  • Builds and maintains a cohesive, collaborative, and engaged team culture
  • Delivers innovative, progressive mental health services across inpatient and community-based settings
  • Optimizes operational performance, quality outcomes, and fiscal accountability while enhancing patient, guest, and community experience
  • Supports the organization’s strategic plan through business planning, resource management, program development, budgeting, performance management, quality improvement, staff development, and regulatory compliance
  • Defines the treatment program’s philosophy, goals, and objectives in collaboration with the Medical Director
  • Directly supervises clinical and administrative staff and provides advisory support to Behavioral Health Unit personnel
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and accrediting body standards and regulations
