Behavioral Health Full-Time NP/PA
About The Position
Behavioral Health Charlotte, in collaboration with One Health, is seeking an experienced full-time advanced practice professional (APP) specialized in psychiatry to provide quality mental health services to patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community. This position is held by board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNP-BC) and/or physician assistants (PA) proficient in psychiatric services, working under the supervision of psychiatrists within the Atrium Health Psychiatry Service Line. The provider will perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adult patients across the lifespan, addressing acute and chronic mental health diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program.
- Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina.
- Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license.
- BLS for healthcare provider from AHA.
- Master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice (for Nurse Practitioners).
- Certification as psychiatric NP from a nationally recognized certifying body (for Nurse Practitioners).
- Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
- NC/SC Licensure.
Nice To Haves
- Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
- Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
- +1 years of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adult patients.
- Evaluate, stabilize, and treat patients with acute and chronic mental health diagnoses.
- Provide mental health services to patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community.
- Work under the direct supervision of psychiatrists.
- Engage in teaching opportunities with residents and/or APP Fellows.
