About The Position

Join New Haven, a leading residential treatment center, as a Behavioral Health Direct Support Professional. This part-time, flexible role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of adolescent girls (ages 14–18) and their families. New Haven provides trauma-informed, relationship-based care in a warm, home-like setting, blending therapeutic support with accredited academics. Our focus areas include trauma recovery, family systems, emotional regulation, and mental health. We are seeking individuals studying or with backgrounds in psychology, social work, behavioral science, or related fields to join our mission-driven team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to pass a Utah State background check
• Willingness to commit to a minimum of 8 months
• Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit before the first day of work

Nice To Haves

• Studying or have a background in psychology, social work, behavioral science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and behavioral health support to adolescent residents.
• Lead and participate in daily routines, group activities, and therapeutic programming.
• Support the development of healthy coping skills, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Assist with minor food preparation and model healthy lifestyle habits.
• Maintain a safe, structured, trauma-informed environment.
• Collaborate with therapists and clinical staff to support individualized treatment plans.
• Document daily progress notes and communicate key updates to leadership.
• Use safe verbal de-escalation and physical intervention skills when needed.
