About The Position
New Haven is seeking a Behavioral Health Direct Support Professional to make a difference in the lives of adolescent girls. This role is ideal for individuals studying or with a background in psychology, social work, behavioral science, or related fields. New Haven is a leading residential treatment center dedicated to healing and transformation, serving adolescent girls (ages 14–18) and their families through trauma-informed, relationship-based care. With campuses in Spanish Fork and Saratoga Springs, the center offers a warm, home-like setting that combines therapeutic support with accredited academics, focusing on trauma recovery, family systems, emotional regulation, and mental health.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a Utah State background check
- Willingness to commit to a minimum of 8 months
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Permit before the first day of work
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and behavioral health support to adolescent residents
- Lead and participate in daily routines, group activities, and therapeutic programming
- Support the development of healthy coping skills, communication, and emotional regulation
- Assist with minor food preparation and model healthy lifestyle habits
- Maintain a safe, structured, trauma‑informed environment
- Collaborate with therapists and clinical staff to support individualized treatment plans
- Document daily progress notes and communicate key updates to leadership
- Use safe verbal de‑escalation and physical intervention skills when needed
