The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Dell Medical School is seeking a Behavioral Health Care Coordinator. This role supports mental health programs and initiatives developed through the Texas Child Mental Health (TCMH) Care Consortium, with a focus on improving the quality and accessibility of mental health care for children and adolescents across Texas. The Behavioral Health Care Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting children and families through TCMH programs like Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), a statewide initiative that partners with school districts to provide telemedicine and telehealth services aimed at identifying and assessing the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents, and connecting them to appropriate mental health resources. The Behavioral Health Care Coordinator will help children and families navigate through the TCHATT program, assist in connecting them to providers in the community if needed, and maintain confidentiality of information in all aspects of care. This position will also be responsible for creating patient charts, and scheduling and managing telehealth appointments for patients in electronic health records. The Behavioral Health Care Coordinator will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide excellent customer service while adhering to department standards and develop sustainable pathways for referrals and enhancing processes. This position has an end date of 08/31/27, funding will be revaluated at that time based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.
