About The Position

This is a part-time position for a Behavior Technician (BT) at Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS) in Olivehurst, CA. The role involves working one-on-one with children with autism or developmental delays to develop communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions are typically 2-3 hours long and can take place in the child's home, clinic, or school. The company offers paid training and RBT certification, with opportunities for career growth within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The position is suitable for entry-level candidates as well as certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Requirements

  • Must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment.
  • RBT certification is not required to apply, but the 40-hour training must be completed before your start date.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
  • This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
  • This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year).
  • This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ)

Nice To Haves

  • Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
  • Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate.
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions
