About The Position

As a Behavior Technician at Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS), you will work one-on-one with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours and take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school. The company tailors your caseload to fit your availability and matches you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens. Requirements

  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
  • 6 months of experience working or volunteering with children with intellectual disabilities is a must
  • Must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment
  • RBT certification is not required to apply, but the 40-hour training must be completed before your start date
  • Must obtain RBT certification within 6 months of employment as a condition of continued employment, or maintain an active BCAT or ABAT certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
  • TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year)
  • Background check (FBI & DOJ)
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Nice To Haves

  • Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field
  • Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions
