About The Position

This role is for a Behavior Technician (BT) at Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS), offering a meaningful career path for individuals passionate about working with children. The position involves providing one-on-one behavior support to children with autism or developmental delays, focusing on building communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours and take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school. Requirements

6 months of experience working or volunteering with children with intellectual disabilities
Completion of a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment (or equivalent certifications/training)
Obtain RBT certification within 6 months of employment as a condition of continued employment, or maintain an active BCAT or ABAT certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 18 years of age
Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year)
Background check (FBI & DOJ)
Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients

Nice To Haves

Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field
Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate
Spanish-speaking

Responsibilities

Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions
