About The Position

This role is for a Behavior Technician (BT) at Burnett Therapeutic Services (BTS), offering a meaningful career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for individuals who enjoy working with children. The position supports children in developing communication, problem-solving, and social skills. BTS is hiring both entry-level candidates and certified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children with autism or developmental delays, focusing on building communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play-based activities. Sessions typically last 2–3 hours and take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school. Caseloads are tailored to fit the technician's availability and comfort with age groups, ranging from toddlers to teens. Requirements

  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a passion for working with children
  • 6 months of experience working or volunteering with children with intellectual disabilities is a must
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Reliability and a willingness to work with a variety of clients
  • Must complete a 40-hour RBT training course prior to employment
  • RBT certification is not required to apply, but the 40-hour training must be completed before your start date
  • Must obtain RBT certification within 6 months of employment as a condition of continued employment, or maintain an active BCAT or ABAT certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • This job requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
  • This job requires a CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding)
  • This job requires a TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella Immunization, and a Pre-employment Physical (within the past year)
  • This job requires a background check (FBI & DOJ)

Nice To Haves

  • Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field
  • Candidates with an RBT, ABAT, or BCAT certification, or those who have already completed an ABA Paraprofessional training certificate (RBT, BCAT, ABAT) training course and hold a certificate
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Delivering one-on-one behavior support through fun, individualized activities
  • Implementing behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Collecting and recording data on client progress accurately
  • Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and support
  • Participating in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions
