Behavior Interventionist
About The Position
Easterseals Southern California is hiring Behavior Interventionists to provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to children on the autism spectrum and their families. The role offers ongoing training and clearly defined career paths, and may suit people interested in psychology, behavioral health, autism services, or working with children. Candidates must be available for at least 15 hours per week during the stated work-hour windows and for an initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 35 hours per week. The position requires reliable personal transportation and transporting toys and materials for home visits. Starting pay is $24–$27.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Passion for working with children.
- Previous experience working with children or people with special needs, and an interest in behavioral health.
- Availability to work at least 15 hours per week within the stated work-hour windows.
- Availability for the initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, approximately 35 hours per week.
- Own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
- Proof of immunization records and TB screening.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport materials and to frequently walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and twist.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to children on the autism spectrum and their families.
- Observe, assess, and interact with participants during home visits.
- Lift, carry, and load or unload toys and materials needed for home visits.
