Behavior Interventionist
About The Position
Easterseals Southern California’s Behavior Interventionists provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to families and children on the autism spectrum. The role is an opportunity to build understanding of autism and behavioral therapy, with ongoing training and clearly defined career paths. Candidates must be available to work at least 15 hours per week during the stated work-hour window: Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Candidates must also be available for an initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, for about 35 hours. Pay starts at $24–$27.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Passion for working with children.
- Previous experience working with children or people with special needs and an interest in behavioral health.
- Availability to work at least 15 hours per week during the stated schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Availability for the initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, for about 35 hours.
- Own reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto registration, and auto insurance.
- Proof of immunization records and TB.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift, carry, and load or unload toys and materials, and to walk, bend, reach, squat, kneel, and twist frequently.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to families and children on the autism spectrum.
- Observe, assess, and interact with participants during home visits.
- Transport and handle toys and materials for home visits.
