About The Position

Easterseals Southern California Behavior Interventionists provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to families and children on the autism spectrum. The position offers ongoing training and clearly defined career paths, and is an opportunity to build experience in autism, behavioral therapy, psychology, behavioral health, or related services. The main work hours are Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Candidates must be available to work at least 15 hours per week within this schedule and attend an initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, for about 35 hours. Pay starts at $24–$27.50 per hour. The role involves home visits and requires lifting, carrying, and loading or unloading toys and materials. It also involves frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting to observe, assess, and interact with participants.

Requirements

Passion for working with children.
Previous experience working with children or people with special needs, and an interest in behavioral health.
Availability to work at least 15 hours per week within the stated main working hours.
Availability for the initial two-week training schedule, Monday through Friday, for about 35 hours.
Own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance.
Proof of immunization records and TB.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Ability to perform the physical activities required, including lifting, carrying, loading and unloading materials, and frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting.

Responsibilities

Provide in-home, ABA-based therapy sessions to families and children on the autism spectrum.
Observe, assess, and interact with participants during home visits.
Lift, carry, and load or unload toys and materials for home visits.
