About The Position

This role involves conducting assessments, developing behavior support plans, maintaining behavioral data, and providing support to direct care staff. The specialist will also assist with crisis intervention, participate in screening meetings, and ensure adherence to regulations regarding health, safety, and well-being. Additionally, the role includes assisting with incident investigations and participating in program planning and team meetings. Requirements

  • Completion of Functional Behavior Assessments and other various Psychological assessments.
  • Creation and implementation of Behavior Support Plans and Restrictive Behavior Support Plans.
  • Assessment and maintenance of behavioral data.
  • Regular communication with direct care staff for behavioral support review and training.
  • Mentorship to supporting staff.
  • Assistance with crisis intervention.
  • Participation in screening/intake meetings.
  • Communication and documentation of events/activities impacting health, safety, and well-being.
  • Adherence to Federal and New York State regulations and agency policy and procedures.
  • Assistance with incident management investigative process.
  • Membership in the Program Planning Team.
  • Attendance at annual, semi-annual, and team meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and documents any events/activities that may hinder the health, safety, and well-being of people by adhering to Federal and New York State regulations and agency policy and procedures.
  • Assists with investigative process for incident management.
  • Acts as a member of the Program Planning Team and as needed, attends annual, semi-annual and team meetings.
