About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is hiring a part-time Before School Childcare Site Director for its program at Arlington Elementary. The role provides childcare support in an elementary school and helps create a safe, fun, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and explore. The Site Director engages with participants, delivers quality care, plans and implements the program curriculum and schedule, and serves as a liaison between participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 8:40 a.m., and pays $15.25–$15.75 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience supervising multiple children.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
• Commitment to contributing to the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne’s mission, culture, and values.

• Experience in supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, open relationships and maintain consistent, effective communication with branch management, staff, students, and parents.
• Actively engage with program participants and provide quality care.
• Plan and implement the set curriculum and program schedule.
• Serve as a liaison between program participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director.
• Demonstrate leadership by working with fellow staff, gathering input, and giving direction.
• Provide educational and age-appropriate activities that support a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment.
