Before School Childcare Site Director- Arlington Elementary
About The Position
The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is hiring a part-time Before School Childcare Site Director for its program at Arlington Elementary. The role provides childcare support in an elementary-school setting and helps create a safe, fun, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and explore. The Site Director engages participants in educational and age-appropriate activities, delivers quality care, and supports memorable YMCA experiences. The director plans and implements the program’s set curriculum and schedule, builds positive relationships and communicates consistently with branch management, staff, students, and parents, and serves as a liaison between participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Experience supervising multiple children.
- Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
- Commitment to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

- Experience in supervision is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build positive, open relationships and maintain consistent, effective communication with branch management, staff, students, and parents.
- Actively engage with participants and provide quality care to deliver a quality childcare experience.
- Plan for and implement the set curriculum and schedule.
- Serve as a liaison between participants at the site and the Child Care Services Director.
- Demonstrate leadership by working with fellow staff, gathering input, and giving direction.
