About The Position

Under direct supervision, performs instructional duties or delivers direct services to students or parents. The position supports programs and services for which a teacher or another professional has ultimate responsibility for their design and implementation. The role assists with test administration and may provide specialized assistance for students with special needs. It is a part-time campus position with normal school-hour work hours and reports to the Dean of Academics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the district.
• Ability to organize special programs for the assigned campus.
• Ability to use a computer and district software and databases, spreadsheets, word-processing software, a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
• Ability to analyze data.
• Ability to use effective interview techniques, public-speaking skills, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 48 college hours preferred.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with student academic goals by working with small groups or individual students.
• Assist teachers in enforcing classroom management and behavioral plans to create an appropriate learning environment.
• Help supervise students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, special events, and programs.
• Assist teachers with preparing paperwork for the ARD/IEP process; collect and enter data for special education reports and documents.
• Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and implementing differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
