Part Time Before/After School Care Aide - SST Northwest
About The Position
Under direct supervision, performs instructional duties or delivers direct services to students or parents. This role supports educational programs and services for which a teacher or another professional has ultimate responsibility for design and implementation. The position also assists with test administration and may provide specialized assistance to students with special needs. The employee assists teachers with student academic goals, classroom management, supervision, differentiated instruction, and preparation of paperwork and data for the ARD/IEP process. The position is based in a classroom setting and requires intermittent speaking, standing, walking, and writing, with occasional light lifting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms with all levels of management, both within and outside the district.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the district.
- Ability to organize special programs for the assigned campus.
- Ability to use a computer and district software and databases, spreadsheet and word-processing software, a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
- Ability to analyze data.
- Ability to use effective interview techniques, public-speaking skills, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 48 college hours is preferred.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers with student academic goals by working with small groups or individual children.
- Assist teachers in enforcing classroom management and behavioral plans to create an appropriate learning environment.
- Assist with supervising students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, special events, and programs.
- Assist teachers with preparing paperwork for the ARD/IEP process and collect and enter data for special education reports and documents.
- Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and implementing differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist with test administration and may provide specialized assistance to students with special needs.
