About The Position

Aftercare team members support the after-school program by providing activities and ensuring safety to the children. UCP of Central Florida unlocks the potential of thousands of children each year at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent support programs.

Requirements

High School Diploma (minimal)
1 year working with children birth through age 8 in an educational or recreational setting.

Nice To Haves

CDA or AA in Early Childhood or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow directions given by the Enrichment Program Manager.
Monitor/assist children during large group, small group and individual instruction.
Actively facilitate cognitive, behavioral and social growth of children.
Provide basic care giving duties (utilizing universal health and safety precautions) for children, including, but not limited to changing diapers, feeding children, and cleaning children’s hands, faces etc.
Assist in ensuring compliance with requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPPA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
Engage with children during all activities by reading stories, engaging in center and playground play.
Wash hands as needed according to UCP policy.
Ensure and carry out daily/weekly housekeeping chores for the classrooms, including, but not limited to sweeping floors after meals and activities, wiping tables and counters, placing trash in appropriate containers, and washing, sterilizing and putting away equipment (toys, laundry and dishes).
Copy and otherwise facilitate preparation of materials prior to activity implementation for the classroom as directed.
Maintain positive team member and student interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
