About The Position

At Centinela Hospital Medical Center, the Bed Control Coordinator I works under the supervision of the clinical care team to coordinate care as patients move into and through the care continuum. The role supports patient access and transitions by processing insurance verifications and patient registrations accurately and promptly, notifying payors in a timely manner to help ensure maximum reimbursement, facilitating benefit coverage for continuum-of-care needs, and ensuring information flows to continuum-care providers. The position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Clinical and patient care experience.
• Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of organizational skills.
• Experience working with computers and computer software/applications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher.
• Previous insurance background.
• Previous experience in an acute-care hospital.

Responsibilities
