Bed Control Coord I
About The Position
The Bed Control Coordinator I works under the supervision of the clinical care team to coordinate care for patients as they move into and through the care continuum. The role supports accurate and timely insurance verification and patient registration, notifies payors promptly to help ensure maximum reimbursement, facilitates benefit coverage for continuum-of-care needs, and ensures information flows to continuum-care providers. The position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality. This per-diem position is in Emergency Services at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine, with a variable shift and 8-hour shifts. The stated pay range is $23.72 to $33.12 per hour. The exact starting compensation is determined during applicant selection based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
Requirements
- Must have clinical and patient care experience.
- Must possess excellent spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
- Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of organizational skills.
- Must have experience working with computers and computer software or applications.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or higher.
- Previous insurance background.
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital.
