About The Position

The Bed Control Coordinator I works under the supervision of the clinical care team to coordinate care as patients move into and through the care continuum. The role supports accurate and timely insurance verification and patient registration, timely payor notification to help ensure maximum reimbursement, benefit coverage for continuum-of-care needs, and the flow of information to continuum-care providers. The position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

The position is per diem with a variable shift and an 8-hour shift schedule at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. The stated compensation range is $23.72 to $33.12; the starting amount is determined based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Requirements

• Must have clinical and patient care experience.
• Must possess excellent spelling and grammar skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of organizational skills.
• Must have experience working with computers and computer software/applications.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher degree preferred.
• Previous insurance background preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
