About The Position

The Beauty Stylist drives beauty sales across brands by using demonstrations and artistry techniques, with a focus on recommending products that suit each customer. The role requires passion for beauty products, comfort in a commissioned sales environment, and a commitment to personalized customer service. Hours and schedules vary by week according to business needs.

Requirements

At least 1 year of Beauty industry experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and follow-through.
High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to remain in continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Set and achieve in-store and digital sales goals using selling tools, including text and social media.
Stay informed about industry trends and product knowledge.
Initiate service consultations by asking open-ended questions to understand customer preferences and needs.
Build customer relationships by following up on purchases, recommending products, and inviting customers to events.
Grow sales through appointment-based selling, technology, and opening new Nordstrom Rewards accounts.
Create store events and network in the community.
Build and maintain vendor relationships within Beauty brands to identify key priorities and products.
