About The Position

The Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for Ulta Beauty guests by identifying individual needs, assisting with purchases and cashier tasks, keeping merchandise stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The role supports store leadership by contributing to sales and in-store events, delivering guest service, and following operating procedures and compliance standards. It calls for a passion for beauty, strong guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The BA engages guests, answers questions about products and services, shares promotions, recommends complementary offerings, handles sales and transactions, assists with online orders, and performs makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations. The position also supports appointments and in-store events, participates in training, maintains assigned areas and store standards, and assists with merchandising, inventory, shipments, and loss prevention.

The schedule is flexible and includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work involves frequent movement throughout the store and physical tasks such as standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. The posted pay range is $16.82–$24.00 per hour; exact pay depends on factors including qualifications and experience. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Requirements

• Demonstrated passion for guest service and competency for selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology, such as point-of-sale systems and Apple devices.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omnichannel sales, and retail shrink.
• Greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer product and service questions, explain promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously, and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Support an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Keep assigned areas replenished, signed, and faced, and ensure testers are available.
• Maintain cleanliness and store standards across the salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
• Complete merchandise resets, planograms, marketing and advertising displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing or unloading.
• Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
